As far as we know, MENCO is currently the only company in South Africa that model the effect that various barriers have on noise sources. Utilising our software, we are able to accurately model the impact on the surrounding environment, allowing us to focus specifically on one or more receptors (see Table 1). This allows for the simulated addition of mitigation measures (such as barriers and enclosures) to ensure that the project would be able to comply with national and local standards when it comes to noise impacts.
